Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced that Atlantic League All-Star Game voting will begin on-line on Sunday, June 1st.
Voting will take place at each Atlantic League team's site and at www.atlanticleague.com. On-line voting will take place from Sunday, June 1st through Thursday, July 3rd. Selections are expected to be announced by Sunday, July 6th to coincide with the last game of the first half of the 2008 season. In addition to on-line voting, All-Star voting will include ballots from Atlantic League officials, team general managers, team baseball operation directors, and a media representative that covers each team on a regular basis. The Atlantic League All-Star Game will take place at Commerce Bank Ballpark on Wednesday, July 16th and is presented by Commerce Bank. It is the second time that the Somerset Patriots will host the All-Star Game in Bridgewater, with the last time in 2000. The Atlantic League All-Star Game will have several pre-game festivities including the Home Run Derby, an autograph session with all the All-Star players and coaches, live music, inflatable games, and many other activities. The Patriots encourage fans to arrive at 5:00 pm to be a part of all the All-Star events. The All-Star Game will include giveaways for fans including Baseball Cards (1st 1,500 Kids) of each selected player, a Collectible Pin (1st 1,500 Adults), Commemorative Tickets for all fans in attendance, and a Special All-Star Program for fans to learn more about each player and the history of the Atlantic League All-Star Game (1st 3,500 Fans). The event will include entertainment from The ZOOperstars, BirdZerk, and a Post Game Fireworks Show unlike any seen in Central New Jersey.
